And then my inexperience with paint and the cost of a canvas as big as I wanted scared me off of that idea for awhile. Instead I decided that I could use the same basic geometric pattern and quilt something using $1 a yard fabrics and what I already had in my stash.
And while I'm on the topic of quilts...
I'd like to make a quilt of reunion shirts. But I'm missing some years of shirts, and would like some help rounding them up. I've got 1994-2006, and Mom was able to find 1988-1992 pretty quickly. But its 1980-1986 that I'm still lacking (the colors that Daddy-A's family had these years --green, red, royal blue, and navy blue). So, if you can help me out, that'd be fabulous!

I think your different quilting projects are really neat - great wall hanging! (Maybe you can paint a picture of it now?)
I never ceased to be amazed by you Henns and your ability to whip up a quilt! If (when) I ever get out there to visit some of you Henns, will ya'll teach me to sew? I might not be a gifted student, I'm afraid, but I'm willing to try. Your project is beautiful, Peanut. You should include your SRC points on that. And I can't wait to see your painting project, when you get to that.
I'm saving you some walls in my new house to make quilts for. That's all there is to it.
PS: I'm in sorting mode, so I'll keep my eyes peeled for reunion shirts.
Beautiful job! You are amazing! It is almost summertime and I have some fabric that has been sitting in the closet for over 1.5 years and calling my name.
I think we were given several of those shirts after SuzyQ got too big and Laundryman & his followers arrived. The ones we were given wore to ribbons and were discarded long ago.
Hey! I've had that similar thought for all the reunion shirts that take up room in my drawer, but I CAN NOT part with. I'd love to compare finished projects at our next reunion, whadya think?! And I may actually have one of those years...I'll have to check Mimi's drawer...I'll get back to you about that!
I found a royal blue Niagara/Cumorah reunion shirt. I believe it is 86. It's worn, but it's still in one piece.
Ree--I'll take it!
Sorry, the one I have (and it is from your family!?) is the pink one from 1990. But definitely send a mass email or something to see how much interest there is in reprinting some of the old shirts!
