Last Spring I planted some Italian Parsley seeds. I didn't expect much, but they grew. This Spring I transplanted them to a larger pot and moved them outside to face the real world. I forgot to warn them about caterpillars--very hungry caterpillars.
How to eat fried caterpillars? Sorry about your parsley. Did you put a catepillar in a jar to pupate and see what it would become? They look colorful enough to be pretty butterflies.
It didn't even occur to me to put one in a jar to watch it pupate and see the butterfly (one friend thought they were Monarch caterpillars). If more come back, I may have to try that. And I think I have an idea of what they like to eat now.

wow, that's a lot of caterpillars...did they come with a book at least? I think that's only fair if they're eating your plants. Or you could eat them.

Yeah, maybe they'll become pretty butterflies. Pretty butterflies that smell like parsley, that is. Yum.
