Pocket Wallets

I got the pattern for this wallet about a year ago.  A friend at work was so complimentary toward the one I made for myself that I volunteered to make her one.  Then she was showing it off to one of her friends who asked if she could get one.  So, I agreed to something that I haven't really done before--to make these and sell them.  I'm not sure I'll make a habit of it.  But another coworker keeps telling me about a big craft fair that she thinks I should participate in.  Something to think about at least.

Very cute. I understand being hesitant to actually do this for money though. I think Boss said kind of the same thing about her jewelery making, even though she, like you, could totally clean up with your skills.

I think selling them helps respect your time and effort, so friends don't take advantage of you and your super craft skills. However, if you don't want to have to market your things at a fair, don't do it. It may be time consuming, annoying and unfruitful. (sorry I am being so negative...! :)

I am loving those wallets. To sell, or not to sell...I don't know. My friend Cally recently started selling some of her creations on etsy. Whether that avenue would be better than a craft fair...again, I don't know. You talented people sure have dilemmas!

Very nice purses. Be careful about going commercial - It is a full spectrum job and it will not all be the fun crafty stuff. (Then again you could hire a sales manager to handle things like logistics, setup, etc. How about Razor?)

When we started selling at a Farmers market we went the first week with a very small inventory to see how the market would respond. Our interest was raising kids so our pricing did not need to reflect well all the time and effort involved.
